Just bought a Mazda 3 from him. It was a superb price for a car with a few small things wrong with it. I noticed other buyers didn't have the car checked out before they bought, and it certainly seemed to bite them. If you're spending $5,000+ on something, you'd think you'd be sure of what you're buying beforehand, but maybe that's just me.
Edited, after 2 years of ownership of this car: It still runs beautifully. I've had no issues that weren't regular maintenance items. I've put in oil, filters, and replaced the motor mounts (common on the 2nd gen Mazda3, and fully expected to be doing the work when I bought it). I've taken the car from 80k miles to 122k miles, driven it all over the western US, and it's never steered me wrong.
I bought three cars from them over the years. They have always been nice and helpful. My last purchase was a Honda Odyssey. I haven't had issues with it.
My car had bad brakes, loose stitching on the leather seat, and the previous owner used something to clean the gauge plastic that etched it, among other dings commonly found in a 5 year old formerly family car (back seat has signs of having had a car seat - worn leather mainly.) I had Erasmo's replace the brakes, and the car drives beautifully now. The rest I handled myself, or will have handled by someone more qualified, like the leather seats.
For those who didn't do their homework, pay better attention, or buy new.
Erasmo himself was a great guy to work with, and they handled my one concern with the car quickly.
All seemed fine when we purchased our car. Then, a strange odor started coming out of th a.c. upon starting. We were told it was just spilled oil and it would go away soon. 5 years later, it's still there. About 3 months after purchasing our car, it begins shaking uncontrollably; the entire water pump system needs to be replaced. Of course it's not covered under the warranty they "added at no additional charge." On top of that, they never told us the car would need a different type of fuel than most so the engine is pretty much destroyed after driving for years without knowing. It felt like they took advantage of us and pawned a lemon onto inexperienced car buyers.
Both my parents and I have bought cars at Erasmo's. We had a great experience, they're nice people and very honest. They have the best prices in The Valley . They got us approved pretty easy and really fast. I will definitely keep doing business with them.
DO NOT GO HERE. My mom had gone with them for all her mechanical needs and I decided to go and get my car fixed through them. They let me borrow one of their "courtesy cars" and on my way to work, their courtesy car started shaking horribly and all of a sudden turned off. I lost a full day of work due to this happening. They came and dropped of my car at my home and when I used my car, it started over heating and causing a lot of problems. I contacted them regarding this problem and the OWNER himself said it's not their problem and that they fixed what they had to fix. I went back to their shop so they can AT LEAST check what was going on and he said that they're not liable for anything wrong with the car. They were VERY RUDE to me and my husband and we ended up going head to head. Makes sense why they have the reviews they have and have cars on the lot for over 3 months!
