I've had decent selling experiences with them in the past. A couple times they have bought everything in my bag. But I think their style must have changed recently, because it seems like everything in there was cheap. I brought in about 15 items. It was a mix of sweaters, shirts, and dresses that were nice brands and all gently used. The girl went through it in less than 10 minutes. Then she said they could only buy one dress (for $4.99). According to her, the other stuff was in "great condition", but they were professional styles, and they (Plato's Closet) are all about "everyday casual style." I'm not sure what their idea of professional is, but nothing in that bag was what I would consider "professional". The best part is that the dress they did buy was something I threw into the pile last minute. It was a cotton Shade dress that I bought back in 2008. Joke's on them, I guess. Next time I'll be taking my stuff straight to D.I. I'd rather donate anyways.
I went in with three big bags of clothes. I waited half an hour and when they were done they gave them all back. Two of the bags they didn't even open. The clothes were overpriced, especially for a thrift store. The girls working the shift were rude and seemed annoyed. Definitely not going in again.
Love the selection. Prices should be a little more consistent. For example, i saw a shirt for 8 and went down the aisle and saw the exact same one for 10; seen similar things with other items though. Favorite store, though.
Love this place lots of name brand amazing condition and low priced used like new cloths, and shoes. I got some with the tag still on from name brand stores that said $65.00 for $5.00 so they even have new for sale for cheap
It used to be so much better. Now their clothes is targeted more towards teenagers in my opinion. I tried selling my gently worn banana republic, jcrew, Ann Taylor, loft clothes and according to them, it wouldn't sell. I'm sure they have more experience with selling than I do, but it still shocked me. Now I go mostly to Uptown Cheapskate. Their clothes is much nicer and in a better condition. They bought my clothes and next time I came it was all gone...Their clothes is also much better priced.
